CAMP
TAMARACK
Camp Tamarack operates from February until November each year, offering 4 distinct programs for Central Oregon youth. Tamarack’s mission is to provide youth with experiential opportunities in an outdoor setting, in order to promote personal growth and a better understanding of the environment and world that surrounds them.
Outdoor
school
Each spring and fall 2,500 5th grade students from 38 schools attend Camp Tamarack for a 3-day, 2-night experience. Outdoor School offers students an exploration of the natural world, cooperative living and authentic camp experience. Days are spent investigating bark beetles, canoeing the waters of Dark Lake, and bonding around the campfire.
1,200 campers ages 8-13 each year experience the joy of Summer Camp! They spend days paddleboarding on the lake, crafting in the Hobby House, and exploring the great outdoors. Evenings are spent together singing songs around the campfire, playing games at the Carnival, or having a sleepover under the stars.

Their experience is topped off with laps down the sledding hill and warm cups of hot cocoa!
400 high school students connect with Tamarack year-round, through a one-week volunteer leadership & teaching experience, an ongoing supportive community of Student Leaders and Staff Mentors & occasional special events.
